Who we are
Bonhearts Home Care is a private home care agency serving Winnipeg, Selkirk, Lockport and West St. Paul, Manitoba. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for personal health information, Manitoba's Personal Health Information Act (PHIA). What we collect through this website
- Care request form (/get-in-touch): the postal code where care is needed, how soon care is needed, the kind of help you're looking for, your name, your phone number, and your email address if you choose to give it. We also record when the form was sent.
- Job applications (/careers): the details you enter in the application form, and a resume if you attach one.
- Emails, calls and texts you send us.
- Website usage: like most websites, we use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking, which use cookies to measure visits and how people find us. Our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) and our video provider (Mux) process technical data such as IP address and browser type to deliver the site and video.
Why we use it
- To contact you about care, confirm we serve your area, and prepare your free Peace-of-Mind Care Plan.
- To arrange and deliver care, if you go ahead.
- To review job applications.
- To send care guides or care tips by email, only if you ask for them. You can unsubscribe anytime.
- To understand and improve how our website and advertising work.
We don't sell your personal information.
Consent
By sending a form, you agree that we may call, text or email you about your request. Email care tips are only sent with your separate, express consent, and every message includes a way to unsubscribe, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@bonhearts.ca.
Outside service providers
We use trusted service providers to run our forms and communications, including Make.com (form processing and automation), Google Sheets (record-keeping) and Twilio (text messages), as well as the website services named above. These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. We share only what each provider needs to do its job.
Personal health information
Information about your loved one's health and care needs is personal health information under PHIA. We collect only what we need to plan and provide care, limit access to the people who need it, and protect it with reasonable safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires, and then delete or destroy it securely.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to any legal requirement to keep it. Email info@bonhearts.ca and we'll respond within the time the law allows. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, for personal health information, the Manitoba Ombudsman.
